What a game!
There was fantastic drama at Anfield on Wednesday night as the Carabao Cup delivered. Big time!
For even the biggest sides, the Carabao Cup can be a distraction but with two young teams out, Liverpool and Arsenal produced a masterpiece of a football match.
How Arsenal didn’t win the game will be a question for many Gooners for some time, yet even Liverpool’s young players don’t know when they are beaten.

6 minutes: Shkodran Mustafi turned in an own goal for 1-0 Liverpool.
19 minutes: 1-1. Lucas Torreira turned the ball home from close range.
26 minutes: Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli made it 2-1 to the Arsenal.
36 minutes: Gabriel Martinelli bagged his second and Arsenal’s third, from a fine Bakayo Saka assist.
43 minutes: Hope for Liverpool as James Milner pulls it back to 2-3 from the penalty spot.
54 minutes: Arsenal restore their two-goal advantage, Ashley Maitland-Niles converting from a Mesut Ozil assist.
58 minutes: Alex Oxlade Chamberlain scores the goal of the night against his former club.
62 minutes: Divock Origi makes it 4-4 with his first of the game.
70 minutes: Joe Willock puts Arsenal 5-4 in front with another stunning strike.
94 minutes: Divock Origi scores yet another big goal for Liverpool, 5-5! To penalties.
Dani Ceballos was the only player to miss in the penalty shoot-out. Young Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimihn Kelleher saving. Curtis Jones scored the final spot kick for Liverpool.
