Conte reveals that Milan Skriniar could still leave for Spurs / Bale speaks out about his return to the place he ‘loves’

Financial pressures

Inter Milan are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and it could cost them some of their key players this season.

25-year-old Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar is reportedly wanted by Spurs. The established starters for Spurs currently are Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld. With goals conceded in both the league and Europa qualification, there is still room for improvement.

Jose Mourinho will look to invest in defensive reinforcements if it will improve his side’s fortunes.

Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte was quizzed on Skriniar’s future at the north Italian club.

The Italian said, “Skriniar to Tottenham? He’s part of our project here at Inter. But I don’t know if an important bid will arrive in the coming days… it’s possible that the club will consider it because of the financial situation”

Inter have already seen Diego Godin leave to join Cagliari, the club would need to move quickly to replace any possible outgoing defender.

Bale is back

The return of Gareth Bale to the Premier League has been one of the stories of the summer. Disillusioned with life at Real Madrid, Bale spoke to Sky Sports about how he had wanted to leave for a while.

He said, “I am happy to be back and love this club with all my heart. I’ve had great memories here and l feel very happy and confident. My energy levels have gone up.”

The Welshman spoke about the difference in his mentality now back in England.

“I just want to enjoy my football. In Madrid it was a bit flat for a while, which l think everyone could see. When you are not happy, it’s difficult to play at your highest level.”

Bale will be out of action for some time having picked up an injury with the national side but all eyes will be on him when he pulls on a very different yet familiar white shirt.
