Barcelona’s Camp Nou naming rights
Last week, Barcelona announced a new initiative to raise funds during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Barcelona confirmed that they will sell their Camp Nou naming rights.
The Catalans released the following statement:
(The Club) have approved the ceding of the title rights to Camp Nou for the season 2020-2021 to the Barça Foundation to raise money to invest in research projects being carried out in Catalonia and the rest of the world involved in the fight against the effects of COVID-19.
In the next few weeks, the Barça Foundation, through the Club’s Commercial Area, will begin the process of finding a sponsor who wishes to acquire the title rights to Camp Nou for a season with the proceeds going to finance research projects and other projects involved in the battle against the effects of COVID-19, both at a local and international level.
Mike Tyson’s cannabis company, SwissX, hopes to close Barcelona deal
One of the biggest names in modern day sport, Mike Tyson, is hoping to close a deal with Barcelona for the Camp Nou naming rights.
As confirmed by the BBC, Mike Tyson’s cannabis company is planning to rename Barcelona’s ground as the SwissX Stadium.
The BBC have spoken to Tyson’s business partner, Alki David, about the possible deal between the cannabis company and the football giant:
It’s a great stadium.
It’s something we’ve specifically been looking for to adopt in our company and it seemed like an amazing idea.
My company is a cannabis company and Spain has a long tradition within the European Uunion as being a leader or a liberal in the road towards legalisation, so it’s evolved quite naturally.
The world is born on ideas.
