David Luiz’s ankle problem vs Sheffield United has left Mikel Arteta with 8 injured players before Norwich
Sheffield United 1 – Arsenal 2
Dani Ceballos was the hero for Arsenal in their FA Cup quarterfinal against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Nicolas Pepe fired the Gunners into the lead with a clinical penalty in the 25th minute.
The Blades levelled the match through David McGoldrick three minutes from time, but in another blow to United since the football returned, they were unable to take the game into extra time.
Instead, Ceballos turned home an injury time winner for Arsenal, which has set up an FA Cup semifinal against Man City.
Chelsea will take on Man United in the other semi.
David Luiz’s ankle problem vs Sheffield United
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for David Luiz.
After his horror show against Man City, Luiz has since agreed a one-year contract extension to remain with the Gunners.
However, Luiz now faces a spell on the sidelines after he sustained an ankle injury during Sunday’s FA Cup tie. After the match, manager Mikel Arteta told the press:
It was his ankle. He will get assessed tomorrow but he was in pain.

Mikel Arteta has 8 injured players before Norwich
Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Wednesday night when Norwich City visit the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta is likely to rotate his squad against the Canaries as Arsenal’s injury list is now up to 8.
Aside from Luiz, Arsenal also confirmed that Mesut Ozil is suffering from back problems once again.
Lucas Torreira (ankle) and new permanent signing Cedric Soares (face) are close to being available.
Meanwhile, Calum Chambers (knee), Bernd Leno (knee), Gabriel Martinelli (knee) and Pablo Mari (ankle) are long term absentees.
Update on Norwich before Arsenal
Norwich lost a gruelling FA Cup tie against Man United this weekend. Harry Maguire scored the decisive goal in the 118th minute at Carrow Road.
The Canaries played much of the match against Man United with 10 men after Timm Klose was sent off. Klose is now suspended against Arsenal.
That suspension has compounded Norwich’s defensive problems. Manager Daniel Farke was already without injured defenders Christoph Zimmermann, Sam Byram and Grant Hanley for the match against the Gunners.
