Thiago Almada’s Premier League links
Thiago Almada is one of the hottest prospects in Argentinian football right now.
The Velez Sarsfield youth has spent the last two campaigns impressing in the Argentine top-flight.
And Almada’s exploits have even led to comparisons between himself and one of the footballing world’s greatest players, Lionel Messi.
Such exploits have also seemingly already caught the eye of a number of Europe’s heavyweights, especially in England.
Over the last year or so all of Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with the winger.
La Liga powerhouse, FC Barcelona, have also been tipped as a potential landing spot for the gifted youngster.

Thiago Almada to Leeds?
However, if Almada gets his way, it seems as though he would opt to ply his trade for a slightly less high-profile side.
Leeds United secured a long-awaited return to the English top-flight earlier this month under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.
Bielsa is, of course, also from Argentina and has previously managed a number of sides in his home country.
And it seems as though it could be Bielsa’s presence which may allow Leeds to swoop in and land the highly-rated Almada. This is because, speaking in a recent interview, the 19-year-old stated that he wants to be coached by Bielsa:
‘I would like Bielsa to coach me.
‘My friends sent me something about Bielsa, but I am calm. Whether it happens or not, we have to see.
‘I don’t watch much soccer, but I saw some Leeds highlights and I saw something similar to what we did in Velez with (Gabriel) Heinze.’

How much would Almada cost?
In terms of Leeds actually possessing any interest in Alameda, we recently covered a report from Argentina which claimed the Velez standout was one of a number of Argentinian players being targeted by the now Premier League side.
No fee was mentioned in that report, but a £20m release clause for the youngster has previously been touted.
