Man City close the gap on Man United after swapping Nike for Puma

Man City have announced a huge new commercial deal with Puma on Thursday.

Nike are the current Man City kit makers.

However Nike’s contract with the Sky Blues expires this summer, and Puma have won the race to become City’s next manufacturer.

Puma have agreed a 10-year deal with Man City worth a reported £650 million.

How Man City announced the Puma deal

Man City have posted the following announcement on their club website:

Sports company PUMA and City Football Group have signed a global long-term partnership, which will see PUMA supply the reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City, as well as sister clubs in Australia, Spain, Uruguay and China.

Starting in July 2019, PUMA will be the official partner of Manchester City FC, Melbourne City FC, Girona FC, Club Atlético Torque and Sichuan Jiuniu FC, supplying all representative teams including men’s, women’s and youth football.

Man United & Adidas

Manchester United are still top of the table when it comes to commercial kit deals in the Premier League.

Man United’s deal with Adidas is worth 75 million pounds a year.

Chelsea’s deal with Nike is worth 60 million, while Arsenal’s Puma deal and Tottenham’s Nike contract are worth 30 million.
