Southgate names England squad
This weekend’s Premier League games are the final clashes before the first international break of the new season.
England will play twice in said break. First vs Bulgaria on Saturday the 7th of September and then vs Kosovo on the 10th of September.
Both ties are Euro 2020 qualifiers. England head into the game’s top of Group A with two wins from two games.
Ahead of the upcoming qualifiers, Gareth Southgate named his latest England squad on Thursday the 29th of August.

Mings makes the squad
One of the more surprising inclusions in Southgate’s squad was Aston Villa defender, Tyrone Mings.
26-year-old Mings has yet to feature for England but after impressing in the early stages of the season for newly-promoted Aston Villa, Southgate obviously saw something in the defender.
However, after being called up, Mings has since revealed that he initially thought it was a prank:
“I thought it was a prank when I first found out.
“I got a text when I came in from training from the England player liaison officer Emily. I texted back saying, ‘Oh s**t’. Excuse my language.
“She then called me and said, ‘I’m not joking.’ It was only when I spoke to her on the phone, I knew it was genuine.
“Obviously I am delighted. It has been a long journey to get to this point. Everyone has their own journey. There are people in the England squad that have come from non-league too.
“It probably makes it a little bit sweeter but every English player’s dream is to be called up into the national squad. Hopefully I get a chance to play.” As quoted by the Mirror.
Overwhelmed with emotion right now. I don’t know what else to say other than I’m incredibly proud to be called up to the @England squad. Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me up to this point 🦁 pic.twitter.com/KztXT4AsAW
