Lucas Moura accidentally reveals Harry Kane’s second-leg return vs Ajax

Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura may have let slip the club’s secret weapon for the second-leg against AFC Ajax.

Spurs take on the Dutch league leaders this evening at their new stadium without their top scorer, Harry Kane.

Although, following Monday’s press conference, the Brazilian’s comments suggest Kane could be back to feature in Amsterdam.

Original fears were that Harry Kane would miss the remainder of the season after he suffered another ankle injury.

The injury suffered against Manchester City was his fifth in the last four years, suggesting there is a real weakness there.

But, the 25-year-old keeps defying the odds to return within a matter of weeks and he is expected to do the same with his current injury.

Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about Kane returning before the end of the season and Moura has suggested the same.

The Brazilian was asked about Heung-min Son missing the first-leg due to suspension.

He responded by saying the north London club were looking forward to having him and Kane back for the away leg.

Moura said:

“To have him in the second game and we hope Harry Kane, as well, recovers quick.”

Meanwhile, speaking on TalkSport, pundit Tony Cascarino admitted he had heard Kane would be back for the second-leg.

He revealed:

“I’m told that Harry will be back for the second leg of the Champions League game, Ajax away.

“I’m told they have a real chance of him making it.

“They will need Harry against Ajax.”

Kane out of protective boot and walking pain-free

The Daily Mail also released a report claiming the striker is out of his protective boot and walking pain-free.

Pochettino backed up the Mail’s claims on Monday by saying:

“He is doing well, he started to run a little bit inside.

“His rehab is so good but we cannot create an idea that afterwards we cannot achieve.

“He is good, he is in a good place, he is so focused and we will see what happens.”
