Tom Davies set to be handed new Everton contract

Davies to sign until 2023

Everton fans have been handed a bit of good news on Monday.

20-year-old Tom Davies is currently contracted to the Toffees until 2022.

However, the Times are now reporting that Davies will be handed a fresh deal until 2023.

The deal is reportedly exactly the same as his current one but has just been extended by a year.

Davies’ playing time has been limited in recent weeks with the midfielder managing just 10 minutes of football over Everton’s last six league outings.

However, Marco Silva is still said to be a fan of the youngster who has captained Everton five times in the Premier League this campaign.

Everton searching for European football

As well as Davies getting set for a new deal, Everton may also find themselves playing European football next season.

Everton are currently 9th in the league, four points off 7th place Wolves with two games to play.

7th place will be a Europa League spot should Manchester City win this year’s FA Cup.

While Everton may just miss out on European football this year, Seamus Coleman believes his side are ready to start challenging for trophies:

“We all need to be patient.

“This club really needs to start challenging for things. We have said it and I am not embarrassed to say it.

“I want to win a cup here and that has got to be the aim and I am sure that with this manager we have seen that we can beat the big teams.”As quoted by the Times.
