Arsenal, Angers & Jeff Reine-Adelaide
Last summer, Arsenal sold Jeff Reine-Adelaide to Ligue 1 side Angers.
Reine-Adelaide joined the Gunners in 2015 from Lens, however the French midfielder never made it at Arsenal.
He only managed a total of eight matches for Arsenal, and all those appearances were in cup competitions.
Soon after Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger, Reine-Adelaide was sold to Angers.
Race to sign Jeff Reine-Adelaide
Now 21, Reine-Adelaide made an impression in 2018-19 in Ligue 1.
He played 35 league matches, scoring three goals and chipping in with three assists.
On Sunday, French paper Ouest-France have reported Angers’ president Said Chabane is willing to sell the former Arsenal midfielder for 20 million euros.
Ouest-France note that Angers paid Arsenal 1.5 million euros, adding that some of Europe’s biggest club are chasing Reine-Adelaide.
They include AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Lyon, Lille and Porto.
Arsenal’s Jeff Reine-Adelaide sell-on clause
In a final point of interest, Ouest-France confirm that Arsenal have a sell-on clause related to Reine-Adelaide.
However, that clause only stands at 10%.
Yet, considering reports that Arsenal only have 45 million pounds to spend this summer, any extra funds could help Emery.
Milan, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Lyon, Lille, Porto among the clubs keen on France U21 forward Jeff Reine-Adelaide. Angers prepared to sell but not for less than €20m. Arsenal, who sold for €1.5m a year ago, would get just 10% of resale (@OuestFrance)
