‘Man City want to sign Real Madrid’s Isco’
That’s the headline news on the front page of Spanish daily Marca on Thursday.
Marca’s splash reveals the following three points.
Firstly, it’s claimed that Pep Guardiola wants to sign Isco.
Secondly, Man City’s interest in Isco is linked directly to David Silva’s announcement this week that he’ll leave the Sky Blues at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Thirdly, Marca tell Real Madrid fans that Isco has no intention of leaving the club, Zinedine Zidane is also planning on having Isco next season, however the club would listen to offers over 80 million euros.

David Silva: I’m leaving
To recap, earlier in the week David Silva confirmed his Man City exit plan.
Silva has a year to run on his existing Sky Blues deal, and he plans to leave Manchester when that happens. He said:
No, this is the last one. Ten years for me is enough. It’s the perfect time for me.
Initially, City were talking about two years, but I decided to sign another one, so I finished at 10 years.
It completes the cycle. It’s a nice round figure. I can never see myself playing against City for another team. So 10 years – that’s it.
Will Man City sign Isco?
That remains up in the air.
Isco is under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2022. However, if 2018-19 was anything to go by, Isco is being marginalised at Los Blancos.
Last season he only scored three goals in 11 La Liga starts.
Will Isco be a starter for Madrid in 2019-20?
Considering Eden Hazard has joined from Chelsea, and suggestions that Paul Pogba could join from Man United, Isco appears to be struggling to lock down a starting place in the XI.
