Manchester United star Anthony Martial has this afternoon been slated online, after the Frenchman’s feeble attempt to earn his side a spot-kick versus Watford.

The two sides are currently locked in action at Old Trafford, in a Premier League clash.
Hosts United headed into proceedings aware that a 3-point haul would see them leapfrog Arsenal back into the English top-flight’s top-4.
Watford, meanwhile, had the opportunity to move into 7th with a victory in Manchester, in the case that Wolves failed to beat Burnley.

And the opening 45 minutes at Old Trafford this afternoon subsequently proved a hugely-entertaining affair, as Watford showcased their intent to attack their hosts from the off.
Despite playing some superb football, however, Javi Gracia’s men struggled to carve out any clear-cut opportunities, a shortcoming which eventually saw the away side punished just before the half-hour mark.
After Luke Shaw broke up a Watford attack on the edge of the United box, the English stopper stepped forward, before unleashing Marcus Rashford with a defence-splitting pass.
And Rashford made no mistake with his finish, lifting a deft effort over the advancing Ben Foster to open the game’s scoring.

Martial targeted
The Red Devils subsequently headed into the interval with their 1-goal advantage intact, though a moment of madness on the part of one of the Manchester giants’ stars has since led to outcry across social media.
The player to have been involved in the incident was Anthony Martial, after the Frenchman darted into the Watford box, before throwing himself to ground under absolutely minimal contact in an attempt to earn his side a penalty.
Replays of the incident quickly showcased just how blatant Martial’s act of simulation actually was, with fans having since taken to Twitter in their droves to take aim at the gifted attacker:
