Kyle Walker issues warning to Liverpool after Fulham

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has this evening assured that his side are back ‘in the driving seat’ in the Premier League title race, following the Citizens’ victory over Fulham.

Fulham 0-2 Man City

Pep Guardiola’s men travelled to Craven Cottage earlier today, for the first of the weekend’s English top-flight fixtures.

Visitors City headed into proceedings having embarked on a staggering run of form ahead of the international break, which saw the Manchester giants’ pick up 11 straight victories.

As such, the Citizens were well aware that another 3-point haul this afternoon would see them leapfrog Liverpool to reclaim the Premier League’s top spot.

And, when all was said and done at Craven Cottage, pick up all 3 points what exactly what City managed, by means of a 2-0 win.

Bernardo Silva opened the game’s scoring with just 5 minutes on the clock, capitalizing on a mistake from Timothy Fosu-Mensah to rifle home from the edge of the Fulham box.

And the Sky Blues went on to double their advantage shortly before the half-hour mark, when another needless mistake at the back from the home side eventually allowed Bernardo Silva to slip Sergio Aguero through for a typically-classy finish.

‘In the driving seat’

As such, the top of the Premier League table now reads as follows, with City holding a 1-point advantage over Liverpool, ahead of the Reds’ crunch meeting with Tottenham tomorrow evening:

And one individual who feels as though the champions regaining the lead in the English top-flight means that the destiny of the title is now firmly in their hands is City defender Kyle Walker.

Speaking to beIN Sports following his side’s victory in London today, Walker revealed his opinion that the Sky Blues’ latest win means that the Premier League crown is theirs ‘to lose’:
