Tottenham fans take aim at Hugo Lloris after Liverpool

Liverpool vs Tottenham

Liverpool and Tottenham went head-to-head in Sunday’s late kick-off.

After Man City beat Fulham 2-0 on Saturday, Liverpool had to pick up all three points vs Spurs if they wanted to return to the summit of the Premier League.

Tottenham, on the other hand, started the day in 3^rd place but just one point away from 5^th place Arsenal who play Newcastle on Monday.

Spurs had also failed to win any of their last four league games before Sunday’s clash.

Lloris’ blunder vs Liverpool

The first 45 was pretty poor from a Tottenham perspective with Liverpool dominating much of the half.

Liverpool’s dominance was eventually rewarded in the 16^th minute as Roberto Firmino put them 1-0 up.

The second half saw the two sides roles very much reversed though with Tottenham looking the much brighter side.

Tottenham would eventually break down the Liverpool defence in the 70^th minute through a Lucas strike.

However, in the build-up to the goal, it looked as though Harry Kane took a free-kick while the ball was moving.

Spurs were unable to hang on for a point though.

Mohamed Salah headed towards goal in injury time and Hugo Lloris parried it down to Toby Alderweireld who scored an own goal.

Lloris really should have done better though and as a result, he is being slated on social media.
