The travelling Chelsea supporters who made their way to the Cardiff City Stadium this afternoon have widely-targeted manager Maurizio Sarri.
Cardiff vs Chelsea
Sarri’s men travelled to Wales for their first Premier League outing following the international break.
The matchup marked a crucial one in both the race for a spot in the English top-flight’s top-4, and the battle to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Ahead of kick-off, Chelsea sat in 6th in the Premier League table, 4 points adrift of joint-3rd-place holders Tottenham and Manchester United.
Cardiff, meanwhile, occupied the final of the relegation spots, with the victories picked up by both Burnley and Southampton yesterday afternoon having heaped further pressure on Neil Warnock’s men to pick up a positive result this afternoon.
Cardiff in front
As things stand, though, the Bluebirds are well on their way to a surprise 3-point haul.
Deep into the second-half at the Cardiff City Stadium, the hosts hold a 1-0 lead, courtesy of Victor Camarasa’s superb strike shortly after the interval.
What a start for the Bluebirds in this second half!

Sarri slated
As such, amid the latest in a host of disappointing performances on the part of visitors Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri has unsurprisingly been singled out for heavy criticism from the Blues’ faithful.
After the Italian tactician opted to leave all of N’Golo Kante, Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi out of his starting XI in Wales, large sections of the travelling Chelsea support since made abundantly clear the fact that they are at their wits’ end with their side’s boss, courtesy of a number of abusive chants:
Now the chants of ‘F**k Sarri-ball’ have started from the away end 33 minutes into the match. #cfc
