Paul Gascoigne injured himself in Tottenham’s warm-up vs Inter Milan

Next up for Tottenham is their long-awaited first Premier League match at their brand new stadium.

Spurs take on Crystal Palace on Wednesday night in a historic event for the Lillywhites.

In preparation for that occasion, Tottenham’s Legends played Inter Milan on Saturday in the club’s new home.

A raft of Spurs heroes from yesteryear attended the event. Jurgen Klinsmann, David Ginola, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Erik Thorsvedt and Darren Anderton all stepped out for Spurs.

However the biggest cheer of the night came for Paul Gascoigne.

Gazza only played 12 minutes of the match against Inter towards the end of the match.

After the game, Gary Mabbutt revealed why Gazza only had a cameo in the exhibition game.

Mabbutt explained that Gascoigne hurt himself in the warm-up for the match.

In a classic nugget, he also disclosed that Gazza had hoped he could play 30 minutes of the game even though he screwed up his ankle.
